County Health Recommends Preventative Measures as COVID Levels Rise
Twelve Bay Area health officers are stressing the importance of taking safety precautions, including continued masking indoors, as the region experiences a new swell of COVID cases and hospitalizations.
The Bay Area now has California’s highest COVID infection rates. The current wave is fueled by highly contagious Omicron subvariants. Bay Area counties are seeing increases in reported cases, levels of virus in sewer sheds, and hospitalizations. Actual case rates are higher than those reported because of widespread use of home tests.
These health officers reiterate their continued, strong support for people to mask up indoors, keep tests handy, and ensure they are up to date on vaccinations by getting boosters when eligible.
For first or second boosters, check with your primary care provider first. Appointments can also be booked on myturn.ca.gov. County Health's community clinics also provide boosters.

Please Participate and Share: Public Survey on Shared Micromobility
The City/County Association of Governments of San Mateo County (C/CAG) is seeking public input on the San Mateo County Shared Micromobility Feasibility Study and Implementation Plan. The Study’s key deliverables include investigating the feasibility of a micromobility program, compiling research and best practices, and developing program guidelines to support jurisdictions that wish to launch a program. Micromobility refers to services such as bikeshare and scooter-share, where users are able to check out various small and light-weight vehicles for short term use through a self-service rental portal. C/CAG has developed a short survey that aims to identify the publics’ interests, concerns, and recommendations related to a potential shared micromobility program in San Mateo County. The survey is accessible at :https://forms.gle/WpC4pVF1vMVMSWdF6. Please feel free to share the link to other interested parties. The survey will close on June 17th at 5:00pm. For further information on the Study, please view https://ccag.ca.gov/programs/transportation-programs/shared-mobility/ and direct any questions to C/CAG staff Kim Wever at kwever@smcgov.org.
