December 22, 2025
Hello,
As 2025 comes to a close, I want to take a moment to reflect on what we have accomplished together and to thank the residents, volunteers, and City staff who continue to invest their time, energy, and care into American Canyon.
Much of the work we do as a City does not arrive all at once. It happens steadily, over time, through many small decisions and long days of follow-through. This work is not always visible and can be disruptive while it is underway, but it represents our commitment to investing in our resident's quality of life.
That commitment took shape this year through infrastructure improvements across American Canyon. Projects like Melvin Road, Rancho Del Mar, Napa Junction, and Theresa Avenue included critical sewer, utility, pedestrian access, and road work, helping ensure reliable service, protect public health, and support safe, functional neighborhoods. Green Island Road improvements are moving forward to strengthen the infrastructure needed to support local business and employment.
We also made progress in the places where people gather and spend time together. At Wetlands Edge, the Outdoor Education Project moved forward with the installation of a new restroom facility and outdoor classroom, an important step in making the area more accessible and usable for the public. At Northampton Playground, a new shade structure reflects attention to the small details that make parks more comfortable and welcoming for everyone throughout the year.
These efforts do not happen on their own. I want to thank our residents and businesses for their patience and shared commitment to making American Canyon the best place to live, work, and play.
Supporting quality of life also means investing in the people and organizations who serve our community at a grassroots level. This year, the City launched the Community Grant Program to provide funding to local nonprofit organizations serving American Canyon residents. Through this program, the City Council allocated $30,000 to help fund programs, services, and events that strengthen community connection and wellbeing. I am grateful to the nonprofits who stepped forward and to the Council for backing this local investment.
That same spirit of service shows up throughout American Canyon, and we look forward to recognizing it at the Volunteer Recognition Dinner on April 25. It’s an opportunity to thank those who give their time and energy to help our community thrive. Please save the date; more information will be shared after the New Year.
Looking ahead, we will continue to connect, reflect, and plan together. Please watch for our upcoming State of the City, along with two in-person City Council Town Hall meetings: February 25 at 6:30 p.m. at Canyon Oaks Elementary School, and February 26 at 11:00 a.m. at the Adult Activity Center.
This holiday season I encourage everyone to slow down when possible and extend patience and kindness in small, daily interactions.
On behalf of the City Council and our dedicated staff, thank you for making American Canyon a place we are proud to serve. I wish you and your loved ones a safe holiday season and a happy New Year.
Take care,
Jason B. Holley City Manager

Greetings American Canyon,
As we close out the year, I want to take a moment to thank the American Canyon community. This past year reflected growth, collaboration, and resilience, and I am proud of how our city continued to move forward together.
Progress does not happen without people. The dedication of our residents, volunteers, City staff, first responders, educators, and community partners is what allows our community to stay strong and responsive to the needs of those who call American Canyon home.
I am deeply grateful for the trust you place in your city and for the pride you show in being part of this community. As we look ahead, I remain committed to listening, leading with transparency, and working collaboratively to support a safe, vibrant, and inclusive future for all. From my family to yours, I wish you a joyful holiday season and a healthy, hopeful New Year.
Together in service, Mayor Pierre Washington
