Hello,
A big thank you to the students of American Canyon High School for welcoming me today! There’s no better way to spend a Friday than with such an insightful and engaged group. ACHS was the final stop on our State of the City roadshow, where we shared updates on what’s happening in town, connected with hundreds of students and celebrated our community together. Check out the photos below.
Over the past few weeks, we’ve had some fantastic roadshow events, including the City Hall Open House, the AAC event, and most recently, the “State of Business Local Legends Luncheon” hosted by the American Canyon Chamber of Commerce. Guests enjoyed a delicious meal, connected with the community and heard from Mayor Washington while delving into important business discussions at the Boys and Girls Club banquet room.
As we wrap up the 2025 State of the City roadshow, I want to thank everyone who participated, whether online or in person. If you weren’t able to attend one of our in-person events, you can still watch the full video on American Canyon’s YouTube channel.
Lastly, American Canyon’s Water Crew will conduct hydrant flushing throughout the city starting next Tuesday, March 18. This essential maintenance helps remove particle buildup in our water mains and ensures high-quality water reaches your tap. For more information and weekly zone updates, visit the Hydrant Flushing page.
Take care, Jason B. Holley City Manager

To align with the purpose of this segment and to expand on the discussions I’ve had with the community during our State of the City Roadshow, today I’d like to speak about public safety. As a retired law enforcement officer, this topic holds a special place in my heart and I am proud to share some of the initiatives that ACPD implements to streamline public safety in American Canyon.
ACPD utilizes proactive policing to deter crime and address issues before they escalate rather than simply responding to incidents that have already occurred. This strategic approach not only focuses on prevention but also strives to build relationships and trust within the community. Fostering positive relationships and creating open lines of communication between ACPD and the public is essential for creating a safer community for everyone.
Our dedicated officers take pride in serving everyone in American Canyon, which is exemplified by the usage of the Special Persons Registry. The registry helps first responders identify those who cannot identify themselves due to a disability or special need, such as Alzheimer’s or dementia, autism or a speech disorder. This essential program helps assist our officers in being more responsive to residents with special needs.
These are just some of the methods that ACPD uses on a day-to-day basis to better serve our community. To hear more, be sure to tune in or join us at the March 18 City Council meeting for Chief Greenberg’s presentation of the 2024 Police Department Annual Report.
Together in service, Mayor Pierre Washington

Hydrant Flushing
Starting March 18, the City will begin hydrant flushing throughout American Canyon. This essential maintenance will be completed in six service areas, with each area taking approximately 5 to 7 days. Hydrant flushing involves opening fire hydrants to release large volumes of water at high velocity. This process helps remove particle buildup in the City’s water mains, improving water quality and system efficiency.
You may notice temporary water discoloration while work is being performed in your zone. This is due to natural particles and minerals being flushed from the system. Water remains safe to use and usually clears within a few hours after flushing is completed. We recommend checking your water before doing laundry, especially when washing white or light-colored clothing.
Experiencing discolored water? Run water from an outdoor hose bib for five minutes. Then, run cold water indoors until the discoloration disappears. If discoloration persists, call (707) 647-5325.
Stay Updated! Weekly zone updates can be found on the Hydrant Flushing webpage.
