 Utility Rate Update: January 2025
As of Jan. 1, 2025, new utility rates have taken effect in American Canyon. Customers can expect their first bill with the updated rates to arrive in early March. Meters are read on the 7th of each month to measure usage from the previous month. For example, the reading taken on Feb. 7 will cover usage from Jan. 7 to Feb. 7. After processing, bills will be mailed to customers during the first week of March.
Most single-family residential customers can expect to see an increase of $19.22 due to the change in the monthly service charges. The updated rates will help cover the rising costs of providing essential services like safe drinking water, sewer treatment and recycled water. These adjustments ensure we can continue to maintain aging infrastructure, meet regulatory requirements and invest in water security and sustainability.
Here’s what you need to know:
- American Canyon is taking measures to safeguard its water supply and minimize the cost of service including converting landscapes to recycled water, reducing energy costs and reducing the costs of construction and maintenance.
- Financial assistance is available to qualifying customers. Learn more and apply at AmericanCanyon.gov/Assistance.
- We’re integrating electronic tracking of water usage with payments — helping you conserve water and reduce the cost of your water bill! Visit AmericanCanyon.gov/TrackMyWater to take advantage of this great resource.
Rate increases only cover the cost of services. As a public agency, American Canyon cannot generate any profit from its utilities. A comprehensive rate study is available at AmericanCanyon.gov/Rates.
