Hello,
Congratulations to all American Canyon Graduates!
I might be aging myself here, but this time of year always reminds me of the opening scene in the cult-movie classic: "Dazed and Confused" (School's Out for Summer! School's Out Forever!) In all seriousness, though, parents, please tell your kids to stop "doorbell ditching" – residents are tired of the disturbances, and FYI, the kids' faces awkwardly show up on their Ring cameras too.
Parents looking for something for the kiddos to do need not despair. Canyon Kids Summer Camp is back! We are located at the Napa Junction Community Center, and the last remaining spots are filling up quickly. If you haven't had a chance to check out the expansive selection, please visit CityofAmCan.org/Camps. We offer half-day and full-day options for grades K through 8 – activities include online coding, Lego-inspired STEM, weekly themed arts and crafts, and much more. Camp starts next week – don't delay!
The North Bay's most bodacious 4th of July Celebration is quickly approaching! You won't want to miss the fun parade and park festival at Community Park II beginning at 3 PM. The evening will close with the American Canyon Fireworks Spectacular. There are still openings for the parade; groups can sign up here.
The summer's first Meet-Me-In-The-Street was better than ever — big shout out to the Chamber of Commerce for hosting this event. The celebration continues this upcoming weekend too.
On Saturday, June 17th, LGBTQ Connections' AC Pride Celebration is from 11 AM - 5 PM at Community Park II; this fun, free event is open to all friends, families, and allies.
Then on Sunday, June 18th, the American Canyon Arts Foundation's Juneteenth CommUNITYfest will happen from 1-6 PM at Main Street Park. This event is free, too - join us for an uplifting Father's Day with family, food, entertainment, and fun.
See below for all the details of both of these events. For a complete list of our amazing celebrations and community events, visit the Community Calendar on the City's website.

Lastly, American Canyon recently hosted more than 75 local government leaders from across northern California (see photos below). We proudly shared the latest activity around town and toured Lemos Pointe, the 186-unit affordable housing project nearing completion in the first phase of Watson Ranch. The attendees were stupefied to learn about all of the great new amenities coming soon to the Napa Valley Ruins and Gardens.
Take care, Jason B. Holley City Manager

Flush Smart Day is July 1st: Stop the Fatbergs
Have you heard of Fatbergs? These giant cement-like masses can form when fats, oils, and grease (FOGs) combine with non-flushable products like baby wipes, cleaning wipes, and makeup wipes and can clog the entire wastewater system. A 2020 NACWA report estimates that $441 million of utility fees are wasted annually on extracting these fatbergs from sewage lines and the resulting necessary repairs. The issue is complex, but our friends at the Responsible Flushing Alliance are promoting a simple solution! Just look for the “Do Not Flush” symbol on wipes packaging. This way, you’ll always know where your favorite personal care and hygiene products go. You can learn more about fatbergs and good flushing habits on their website at https://www.flushsmartcalifornia.org/.
