Hello,
ACPD would like to congratulate all the students on their upcoming promotions and graduations. You all have worked very hard to reach this huge accomplishment, please remember to celebrate responsibly, and we wish you the best in your next chapter in life.
At the June 6th City Council meeting, your City Council passed a safe gun storage ordinance. This means it is illegal to not properly secure your firearms inside your residence with a gun lock or gun safe. ACPD will offer free gunlocks so that you can comply with the ordinance and, most importantly, keep your firearms stored safely and securely. You can pick up your free gun lock at ACPD, 911 Donaldson Way East, Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, or stop by our booth at one of the upcoming city events.
The 4th of July celebration is right around the corner, and the City of American Canyon is hosting its annual parade, and fireworks show. Please refrain from lighting your own fireworks. They are illegal in Napa County, dangerous if you are not a trained professional, an extreme fire hazard, and a nuisance to neighbors and pets. Please stop by our booth for a chance to dunk ACPD officers and me in the dunk tank.
The American Canyon Police Department is seeking a Police Technician. Ideal candidates are motivated team players who have excellent attention to detail, self-discipline, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and high ethical and professional standards to perform various non-sworn administrative and field support tasks associated with law enforcement support services.
Lastly, I want to remind everyone to save the date of Tuesday, August 1st, 2023, for National Night Out. We hope to see you there!
Respectfully, Rick Greenberg Chief of Police
