Hello,
Spring has arrived, and daylight hours have been extended with the time change. Lobo, Officer Patterson, and I enjoyed attending the American Canyon Little League opening day event this month. I was honored to throw out the opening day pitch, along with AC legend Fran Lemos.
Unfortunately, we have had a rash of vehicle break-ins at the Newell Open Space parking lot. I want to remind everyone again not to leave valuables such as purses, wallets, and electronics in vehicles, not only at this location but anywhere. Please assist us if any suspicious vehicles are seen in the area; get a license plate and call Dispatch at (707) 253-4451 or dial 911.
American Canyon experienced a large-scale power outage this month on the city's east side, and over 3,000 PG&E customers were affected. I want to assure the community that ACPD provides extra patrols to the areas experiencing outages during times of power outages. Thieves often take advantage of the darkness during these events to commit theft crimes. This is an excellent reminder to secure your residences and vehicles, replace batteries in flashlights, check back up batteries on residential alarms and electric garage door openers.
I want to remind everyone to register their home cameras with ACPD. This is a great way for the community to assist ACPD in solving crimes.
Lastly, ACPD Community Resource Officer Maureen Patterson will be hosting several "Donuts in the Park" events in the upcoming weeks. Please come out and Meet Officer Patterson.
Be sure to sign up for Neighborhood Watch now, so you can stay informed!
Respectfully,
Rick Greenberg Chief of Police
