February 26, 2021
Hello,
Here in the City, we find ourselves in the midst of a flurry of activity – please see below for important new information:
- We are working hard to bring the COVID-19 vaccine to the community. Over the next two weeks, stay tuned for more announcements regarding new vaccine clinics here in American Canyon for residents who are 65 years of age or older. If you or someone in your family is over the age of 65, please click here to sign up. The vaccine is safe and will be available free of charge to eligible American Canyon residents. Currently, only residents who are older than 65 years of age are eligible for these new clinics.
- We are pleased to present our 2021 Annual State of the City Report to the Community. I was joined this past Tuesday by Napa County Public Health Officer Dr. Karen Relucio, American Canyon Fire Protection District Chief Mike Cahill, Napa County 5th District Supervisor Belia Ramos, and American Canyon Chamber of Commerce President/CEO Valerie Zizak-Morais in presenting it to the community. Click here to view a replay of the presentation. The answers to the questions sent in by community members are coming soon.
-
The American Canyon Little League has opened their 2021 season registration for baseball and softball, ages 4-18! Napa County Public Health and the City have approved their COVID-19 Safety Policies and Protocols.
- At a recent meeting, the City Council recognized Steve Jarvi, from our Public Works Department, with a proclamation for his heroic efforts in saving the life of a child in our community. We are proud and grateful to have employees like Steve who truly care and dedicate themselves to serving American Canyon.
-
Next Tuesday, March 2nd, the City Council will continue to evaluate a temporary 45-day moratorium on fueling stations. The moratorium would prohibit approval of new stations during this timeframe. The Council is considering a temporary pause of approvals of new stations in order to provide time to re-visit the context of these unique uses within the community’s long-term vision for the Broadway corridor.
Be smart and stay safe because hope is on the horizon.
Jason Holley City Manager
