Hello,
It was a busy week with COVID updates. On Monday, Governor Newsom announced the Regional Stay at Home Orders are no longer in effect. On Tuesday, during her update presentation, County Public Health Officer Dr. Relucio explained that Napa County is now back in the purple tier of the State's Blueprint for a Safer Economy. This means many indoor non-essential businesses are closed, and some are open with modifications. Outdoor dining is now allowed, as well as outdoor gatherings of up to three households. A detailed list of what is allowed under each tier is available here.
Dr. Relucio also provided the latest case trends. As of this morning, American Canyon has had 1,404 positive cases of COVID. Our positivity numbers are beginning to trend down, but we cannot become complacent. We need to continue to do all we can to keep one another healthy. The status in Napa County for COVID-19 vaccine distribution is Phase 1a, tiers 1-3, and individuals 75 and older (as allocations from the state allow). Definitions for phase/tier eligibility are provided by the State of California. The County has a COVID-19 vaccine interest form open for submissions for phase 1 for those who either live or work in Napa County Information related to COVID-19 vaccine information is rapidly evolving as planning for mass vaccinations continues. This pandemic has demanded patience from all of us, and when it comes to the vaccination process it's apparent that the level of patience needed will be extraordinary. The latest information on the process is available here and Dr. Relucio's presentation is available here.
Next week, the "Heart your Parks" and "We <3 Everyone" campaigns will kick off for the month of February. This will include celebrations of our community's diversity, local art displays, an exhibition for our teens to share their experiences through art and writing, and more hearts than you could ever imagine! During these continually challenging times, we can all use a little extra love. I hope you are able to participate in some of the planned activities and find ways to help spread some love throughout our community. Find out how you can participate here.
Remember, we are all in this together and we're not out of the woods yet. Let's all do our part to pull out of the purple tier and take care of one another.
Take care and stay safe,
Jason Holley City Manager
