Hello!
Thank you, American Canyon, for everything you are doing to help flatten the curve! This community continues to come together for the greater good, and I wanted to share some recent examples.
This week at City Hall, we received a generous donation of homemade cloth face coverings from Molly Silcox with Nostalgia of Napa. Not only did she supply enough for our staff, but also the Fire Department, Police Department, and other public servants throughout Napa Valley!
Two weeks ago, Loch & Union, American Canyon’s Award-Winning distillery, donated 5 gallons of hand sanitizer to help keep our employees safe. Colin and his team are also making sanitizers for others in the region.
Other examples include the American Canyon Chamber of Commerce partnering with Operation: With Love from Home to collect personal protective equipment to donate to Napa and Solano County health providers. They are also collecting canned foods (see flyer below for more information on time and location).
Napa Valley Unified School District and the Boys & Girls Club of Napa Valley have, and continue to provide healthy meals to our youth. The Community Organizations Active in Disasters (COAD) is working with Community Action of Napa Valley (CANV), ParentsCAN, and others to help provide food and additional support to those in need in our community (see below for more information).
The weather will be nice this weekend, perfect for a pleasant socially-distanced stroll in your neighborhood. If you have to drive your car, you are going too far!
Thank you, take care, and stay safe.
Jason Holley City Manager
