Hello!
Last Tuesday, February 18th we held our annual State of the City with record attendance! Approximately 150 people came to participate in our State of the City Presentation and Open House. The event was live streamed on our Facebook page for those who were unable to attend in person. We would like to extend our sincerest thanks to our partners who came out to support us and their causes – the American Canyon Chamber of Commerce and Welcome Center, American Canyon Community & Parks Foundation, Collabria Care, Community Leaders Coalition, On The Move, ParentsCAN, Children’s Museum of Napa Valley, County of Napa, Napa County Office of Education, Napa Valley College, and Napa Valley Unified School District. Many thanks to everyone in the community who also attended and supported this event.
The State of the City Report booklet was delivered to American Canyon mailboxes this past week. This is the perfect opportunity to review our accomplishments and what’s yet to come. If you did not receive a copy of the Report and you would like to review it, please visit our website.
At our upcoming March 3rd Council Meeting, American Canyon Police Chief Oscar Ortiz will provide an overview of his department’s annual report. Much like the State of the City Report, Chief Ortiz’s report will cover his department’s successes and accomplishments in 2019, as well as an overview of his team’s duties, important public safety statistics, and general department related information. The report will be available on our website after March 4th.
Next Tuesday, March 3rd is an important day! Don’t forget to get out and vote! If you or someone you know needs voter assistance, visit Napa County’s website or call (707) 253-4321.
Lastly, many of you may be concerned about the Coronavirus. As with any virus, especially during the flu season, the Napa County Department of Public Health reminds you there are a number of steps you can take to protect your health and those around you:
- Wash hands with soap and water
- Avoid touching eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick
- Stay away from work, school, or other people if you become sick with respiratory symptoms, like fever and cough
We recommend that you start taking some basic steps to get prepared. Please refer to the following websites for accurate information and resources on COVID-19:
