 The City is conducting a survey to better understand how residents use local parks, what types of activities and programs are important to the community, and what improvements may be needed in the future. Community feedback will help guide future planning and decision-making for parks and recreation spaces.

 City Park asset inventory and condition assessments will begin next week at City parks (March 23rd through March 27th) to support the development of a data-driven approach to programming renewal efforts under the City's Annual Parks Rehabilitation Program. During this time, residents and park visitors should expect to see field personnel evaluating park facilities, including playground equipment, restrooms, courts, ballfields, pathways, fencing, and other site furnishings.

The City of Albany and City of El Cerrito are collaborating to offer four workshops in 2026 & 2027 focused on reducing wildfire hazards, addressing climate change, stewarding natural areas, and reusing urban wood. This project is funded by a grant from the State Coastal Conservancy.

Learn about the native and invasive plants in the grasslands on the crest of Albany Hill and how they affect fire. Find out how Albany is mitigating fire hazards on Albany Hill and plans for tree removals and habitat restoration. This session includes volunteer work: pulling some invasive plants.
What’s provided: information handouts, gloves, tools, snacks, drinks
All ages welcome.

Friendship Camp Staff will lead a fun-filled arts and crafts session where creativity knows no bounds! Campers will explore painting, drawing , sculpting, and nature crafts while learning new techniques and expressing their unique ideas. From creating sculptures with recycled materials to making friendship bracelets, there's something for everyone. Lunch break and outdoor play is from 12-12:30 p.m.

 Are you a college student interested in learning about nature and helping others understand and appreciate the natural world? The City has an opportunity for you with our Habitat Restoration Internship program on Albany Hill.
Interns will assist with survey and identification projects, help with educational outreach and signage, support native plant restoration and vegetation management work, and learn about environmental issues. Ideal candidates have an interest in and curiosity about the natural world and want to get real-world experience for pursuing a career in environmental or related fields.
The program is partially supported by a grant from the State Coastal Conservancy.

The Alameda County Healthy Homes Department administers the Minor Home Repair grant and other grant programs. Funding and licensed contractors are immediately available for low-income, owner-occupied households.
Minor Home Repair Program (MHR) – provides grants of up to $3,000 to correct urgent health and safety issues to help residents stabilize their properties, avoid displacement, and ensure a safe living environment. Eligible repairs include plumbing, carpentry and electrical work.

 Up to $6,000 per Project to Help Protect Our Creeks and the Bay
The Alameda Countywide Clean Water Program is now accepting applications for its 2026 Community Stewardship Grants, offering up to $6,000 per project to support community-based initiatives that prevent stormwater pollution and promote the health of local watersheds. Stormwater pollution happens when rainwater washes litter, motor oil, pet waste and other contaminants from streets into storm drains that flow directly to creeks, wetlands and the San Francisco Bay.
Projects must be implemented within Alameda County, and the application deadline is May 4.
Eligible applicants include teachers and student groups, youth organizations, community and environmental groups, homeowner associations and non-profit organizations. Proposed activities can range from litter cleanups, creek restoration and wildlife habitat enhancement projects to art and multimedia projects, community outreach events and more. Creative and innovative ideas wanted!

The Solano Avenue Association (SAA) invites you to come see what makes Solano Avenue a wonderful place. SAA seasonal programs feature live music & entertainment, as well as activities & specials at Solano Avenue businesses. Solano Avenue will remain open to vehicle traffic (not a closed-street festival like the Stroll) and the program is rain or shine.
