Albany Local Week concludes tomorrow, October 4, with the return of Dinner with Albany. This beloved Albany tradition will take place at a new location — the beautiful Memorial Park. Get ready for an evening filled with live DJ music, art and community spirit. If you've registered for a table at Dinner with Albany, you can support our business community by picking up takeout from one of Albany’s local restaurants.

Come to the Albany Fire Department's annual Pancake Breakfast and enjoy a raffle, a live fire demo, a natural gas safety demo, seeing the fire engines, meeting Sparky the Fire Dog, and of course a great breakfast prepared by our fire fighters. Tickets can be purchased at the door. Proceeds benefit the Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation.

The City of Albany is once again hosting the Fall into Haiku Contest. The Albany community is invited to submit up to three original haiku reflecting on the people, places, and moments that make Albany special.
Entries may be submitted by October 15. The contest is open to Albany residents and to anyone who works or attends school in Albany. Approximately 60 haiku will be selected and displayed throughout the City from November 2025 through January 2026, including in parks, along commercial streets, and in residential areas.

 Have you ever taken a breathtaking photo in one of California’s state parks and thought, "This is so good it could win a contest”? Well, now’s your chance. Inspired by the Golden State’s 175th anniversary earlier this month, California State Parks is holding a photo contest inviting Californians to celebrate the state’s natural beauty and history. You can submit photos taken in one of 280 state parks in up to five categories for a chance to win special prizes! Photos must be taken in 2025. Be sure to submit yours by October 9, 2025.

 The Air District’s Clean Cars for All (CCFA) Program provides grant funding to income-eligible Bay Area residents to receive up to $12,000 to trade in their old vehicle and purchase or lease an electric vehicle or get a pre-paid card for public transit or an e-bike. Eligibility is based on income, the vehicle to be retired, and other requirements.
The program relaunched in August 2025 with $10 million in grant funding available. A webinar will be held to review new program offerings, eligibility requirements, the application process, and answer questions:
