Make your Home and Vehicles more Energy-Efficient and Eco-Friendly this Summer!

Summer’s a great time to make your home and vehicles more energy-efficient and eco-friendly! Since Alameda Municipal Power (AMP) provides Alameda residents with 100% clean power and rates 45% lower than PG&E, the stage is set to make your homes and vehicles healthier, safer, more comfortable and resilient by taking advantage of the following resources:

  • Click here to view rebates available through AMP.
  • The City of Alameda has completed its annual fee update and has kept certain permit fees low for permits to encourage seismic retrofits and electrification measure fees. Click here to view more information from the permit center and click here to view the fee schedule.
  • Replace your heating system with a heat pump space heater to receive a lower-monthly electricity rate from AMP for your entire household. You can see the difference in rates here

Resources, Incentives, and News for your Vehicles

  • Check out AMP's rebates for used EVs and chargers by clicking here!
  • Take advantage of the low maintenance costs associated with making the switch to EV's.
  • The City has installed 10 new charging ports at SeaPlane Lagoon Ferry terminal and was awarded a $1,237,000 grant from the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) to deploy 43 public EV chargers in partnership with EV charging providers, It's Electric and Blink Charging!

 


Experience Rising Seas 2 w/ Gamelan and Taiko This Saturday!

Rising Seas

Saturday, June 21st, 1pm at Svendsen Maritime Park (Alameda's newest park!). Rhythmix presents a free, outdoor event, transforming Alameda's waterfront parks with live music, dance, and theater.

Enjoy theatrics directed by Jeff Raz, experience an audience-immersive choreography from KT Nelson & dancers, learn an Earth song with Kanyon CoyoteWoman Sayers-Roods and explore global island traditions through music and dance with Gamelan Sekar Jaya and guest taiko artists.

Artists and local organizations will offer fun hands-on activities for the community to participate, inviting everyone to imagine a more connected and sustainable future.

On June 12, StopWaste honored the recipients of the 2025 StopWaste Environmental Leadership Awards. Celebrated for the 23rd time, this annual awards program recognizes Alameda County entities for their leadership and innovations in advancing environmental sustainability, waste prevention, and contributions to building healthy, climate resilient communities in Alameda County.

Take East Bay Regional Park's Survey to Help Shape the District Plan

The East Bay Regional Park District is creating their next District Plan, a high-level document to guide the Park District into its next century. It provides a strategic roadmap with key priorities to move toward the vision of an extraordinary and well-managed system of open space parkland in Alameda and Contra Costa counties. Your voice is important. Please share your ideas by taking this survey and participating in District public engagement activities.
