Thanks to the 777 people who rode, bringing on 183 bikes, on our first day of service on July 17th! Yes, there was a boat issue at the end of the day, but it was quickly fixed and we are back up and running now. We're happy to see so much excitement about the free service and so many people coming out. Please read on for tips on how to ride, as we navigate what we think will be a busy weekend and first few weeks!
-
Days of service: We operate on three different schedules, from Wednesday through Sunday. No service on Mondays and Tuesdays.
-
Capacity: Woodstock can take up to 31 passengers and 14 bikes, and is first come, first served. If more than these numbers are waiting in line, you will need to wait for the next boat. Keep in mind that the next trip may be after a 1 to 2.5 hour scheduled break, so plan your trip accordingly.
-
Breaks in service: There are three or four breaks of 1 to 2.5 hours every day. These are needed for the crew breaks, crew changes and refueling. They are indicated by the thick grey lines in the schedule. Please be aware of these breaks when planning your trip, and note that there may be more people waiting for the runs just before and after these breaks. We're working to make these breaks more clear in the schedule. Meanwhile, some may prefer to read the SF Bay Ferry version of the schedule for now.
-
Lining up: Please form an orderly line, according to the posted signage and those staff that may be working at the docks. Most important is to keep the gangways, ADA ramps and public areas of the docks clear; and to let everyone exit the boat and ramps before moving the line. We are still observing how queuing is working, and developing the optimum line management and signage, so please bear with us.
-
Dogs: Pets are only permitted in enclosed carriers that fit on the passengers lap, per the SF Bay Ferry pet policy. See policy for service dog exceptions.
-
Roundtrips: Everyone must exit the boat after each run, and then get in line to come back. As we say: "this is a shuttle, not a cruise!" Again, if it's a busy time, you may have to wait for the next boat.
-
FAQs: We've posted responses to over 30 questions you might have on our FAQs page.
-
Shade: There's no shade on either dock, so consider bringing some sun protection.
