Last Chance to Take the Fernside Design Concept Options Survey

The  online survey about the Fernside Blvd design concept options will close at midnight tomorrow, Wednesday, June 19! The Transportation Commission will also discuss these design concepts on June 26. These are both great opportunities to tell us what you want for the future of Fernside Blvd.

This Fernside Blvd Traffic Calming & Bikeways project update contains the following:

Survey Closes Tomorrow 6/19

We appreciate the 205 people who have submitted survey responses to date! Does that include you? If not, we hope you will add your voice, whether you live on or near the street, or travel along it. The survey takes about 15 minutes and will help inform the final design concepts we bring to commissions and City Council for approval this fall or winter.

Public Workshops on 6/5 & 5/29

Thank you to the 50 people who joined our June 5 Community Workshop and the 12 people who logged into the May 29 virtual version! We also heard input from the Commission on Persons with Disabilities on June 5. We are compiling feedback from these events into a summary that will be similar to the Summary of Public Input for Round 1.

In response to public feedback, the Fernside webpage "key documents" section now includes links to research about the safety impacts of the design concept features. Check it out HERE.

Next Steps

After evaluating the public input we are gathering now on design concept options, the staff and consultant team will develop a final design concept for the long term on the full corridor, as well as a near-term concept to be implemented with resurfacing on Fernside west of High St. We will hold public hearings at the Transportation Commission, Commission on Persons with Disabilities, and City Council. The project phase timeline is available on the webpage
