Thank you to those of you who took the survey to choose our community workshop date! Please mark your calendars for December 4th.
- Monday, December 4, 7:00 pm
- Edison Elementary School Multipurpose Room
The Fernside Boulevard Traffic Safety & Bikeways Project aims to create a design concept to update Fernside Boulevard from Tilden Way to San Jose Ave. It will also develop an interim concept for Fernside Boulevard from Tilden Way to High St that can be implemented with pavement resurfacing in the near term.
At this workshop, the project team will share the results of a recent corridor study and ask community members about their experiences and priorities for the street. The study includes vehicle speeds, traffic, walking and biking levels, crash data, and parking, along with safety concerns previously submitted to the City.
All information will be used to develop concept ideas and alternatives for potential Fernside Boulevard improvements intended to improve safety and provide access for all roadway users. An additional community workshop will be held in spring 2024 to solicit input on concept alternatives.
Stay tuned for an online survey and a virtual public meeting date announcement! Community members can also email transportation@alamedaca.gov or call 510-747-6833.
