Wondering whether street improvements are coming near you in 2022? The Annual Report on Transportation includes a new map showing construction and design projects planned for this year. Projects slated for construction include the Encinal Avenue pavement resurfacing and safety improvements (a Caltrans project), the Clement Avene Project, the High Injury Daylighting Project, and more. The map also shows projects in the planning phase, like the Lincoln/Marshall/Pacific Safety Improvement Project and the Clement/Tilden Project.
One construction item on the map has already begun: Caltrans has started work to add flashing beacons and crosswalk striping improvements at six intersections along CA Hwy 61. The first step is underground utility work. They are planning to complete installation and activate all the lights in June. The locations follow:
- Otis and Versailles
- Broadway and Calhoun
- Broadway and San Jose
- Encinal and Park Ave
- Encinal and Benton
- Central and Page
