The State and Federal government are offering three tax credit programs focused on hiring:

New Employment Credit -- This tax credit is offered for hiring "Qualified Full-Time Employees," which includes people who were unemployed for longer than 6 months immediately preceding hire, Veterans separated from U.S. Armed Forces in the preceding 12 months, Earned Income Tax Credit recipients, Ex-offenders and recipients of CalWORKS or county general assistance.

Homeless Housing Tax Credit -- For hiring currently or recently homeless people or those who are receiving services from a homeless services provider.

Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) -- For hiring American job seekers who have consistently faced barriers to employment, such as veterans, ex-felons, summer youth employees, SNAP recipients, long term unemployment recipients, among other groups.
The California legislature extended supplemental COVID-19 paid sick leave policies for California's workers through September 30, 2022.
The SBA Community Advantage Pilot Program was extended to 2024. Other programmatic changes included ending the moratorium on new lenders and lifting caps on loan amounts. Learn more about the program here.
The California Dream Fund is a one-time $35 million grant program to seed entrepreneurship and small business creation in California. New entrepreneurs and small business owners can apply for microgrant of up to $10,000 and will complete an intensive training program through select participating centers of the Technical Assistance Expansion Program.
