- You may be eligible for financial assistance through the Alameda County Housing Secure Emergency Rental Assistance Program
The Alameda County Housing Secure Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ACHS-ERAP) is currently accepting applications. ACHS-ERAP will help income-eligible households pay rent and utilities, both for past due and future payments. The Federal Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021 provides funding to support the program. Tenants are encouraged to apply. Alternatively, landlords may apply.

Eligibility Requirements:
Eligible to apply if one or more individuals in the household meets all of the following criteria:
- Are a residential tenant in Alameda County
- Have qualified for unemployment benefits or experienced financial hardship due to COVID–19.
- Can show a risk of experiencing homelessness or housing instability
- Have a combined household income that is not more than 80% of the Area Median Income (see below). The combined household counts anyone who shares a rental obligation of the unit.

What will applicants need to apply?
- Government issued photo I.D.
- Proof of current pre-tax household income
- Proof of loss of income due to COVID-19
- Proof of residency
- Proof of amount of rent and/or utility owed
