COVID-19 case rates, hospitalizations and deaths are falling, but the virus remains present in our community. It is important to continue practicing the safety measures we know work against COVID-19: wearing masks whenever we leave home (even if fully vaccinated), watching our distance, washing our hands frequently, and limiting mixing with people from different households. When it is your turn (see below), get vaccinated with the first vaccine made available to you.

At last week's Tuesdays@2 Town Hall, Alameda County Assessor Phong La provided insightful information about the valuation of property and equipment. One of the things that Mr. La emphasized during his talk is the importance of responding to the Business Property Value Questionnaire recently sent to business owners. Given COVID-19’s impact on businesses in 2020, they are reaching out to businesses to assist in determining whether a reduction in property value can be given.
