You should use the envelope provided with PO Box 45869, San Francisco, CA 94145-0869.We are still located at 1221 Oak Street, Room 131, Oakland, CA 94612 should you opt to bring in your payment in person.
- Lost, missing, or late-postmarked payments will be subject to penalties. For your protection, we strongly recommend obtaining proof of mailing from the post office.
-
IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING YOUR MAILED IN PAYMENT:
- The United States Postal Service has changed its regulations regarding postmarked dates as of December 24, 2025. The postmark date will be the date the item is first processed by its automated processing equipment not the date it is picked up from the mailbox. You must make sure to submit your payment well before the deadline or you must walk into your local post office and request a manual postmark date to be added onto your payment envelope. You can avoid all this by simply paying online. We strongly encourage you to use this option as we will honor the new postmark date as receipt date.
-
Pay online either by eCheck (free of charge) where you will receive an acknowledgement of the transaction pending your bank institutions acceptance. We will confirm your bank routing number, but we cannot confirm your account number. Per the terms and conditions please check with your financial institution within three business days to confirm the transfer of funds. You can also pay by Credit Card, PayPal or Google Pay with a transaction fee - Tax Payment Web Page
- Please be advised that all PayPal payments are considered final upon submission. Our office does not have capability to cancel or void a PayPal transaction once it has been submitted.
-
Pay on the phone with a credit card (a small transaction fee) using the automated system at (510) 272-6800 by selecting option 1 after the greeting and following the prompts. You must use your unsecured account number when making a payment.
- An agent will not assist you with your payment over the phone. For your convenience the system is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week so please ask someone you trust for assistance with this transaction if needed.
-
Pay through your bank's Bill-Pay service. This must be done well before August 31. 2026 to allow your bank's processing system enough time to process your request and mail the payment to our office; use your unsecured account number to identify your property tax bill.
- Please be advised that personal online banking bill-pay services typically use postage that does not receive a USPS postmark. Because of this, your payment must be received in our office by 5:00 p.m. on the delinquency due date to avoid penalties. We strongly recommend scheduling payments early to prevent any late fees.
- You can also wire your payment electronically - Wire Transfer Instructions
