Dear District 1,
I hope you are all having a wonderful February! With spring just around the corner, I hope everyone is enjoying the recent sunshine and staying healthy.
This month has been filled with meaningful cultural celebrations across our community. I had the pleasure of joining residents in celebrating the Lunar New Year, welcoming the Year of the Horse according to the Chinese lunar calendar, and honoring the rich traditions and cultural heritage that make our district so vibrant.
February is also a time to reflect on and honor our shared and diverse history. During Black History Month, we recognize the achievements, resilience, and lasting contributions of Black community leaders—past and present—who continue to shape and strengthen our neighborhoods.
In this edition of our newsletter, we are proud to share the second installment of our Community Highlight series, spotlighting outstanding community members who are making a real difference here in District 1.
Be sure to explore the updates below to stay informed about upcoming events, resources, and opportunities throughout District 1 and Alameda County!
As always, if there is anything that my office can do to assist you regarding County-specific matters, please feel free to reach out at bosdist1@acgov.org.
Sincerely,

David G. Haubert Alameda County Supervisor District 1
February marked the beginning of the 2026 Lunar New Year, ushering in the Year of the Horse. I was thrilled to celebrate with our community by making dumplings alongside my Director of Health Care Services Melissa Hernandez and California State Treasurer Fiona Ma.
The Lunar New Year is a time to honor tradition and welcome new beginnings—celebrating prosperity, good fortune, and the importance of family and community. I was truly grateful for the opportunity to share in this special occasion as we ring in a new year together.

It’s that time of year again! The City of Dublin will be hosting its 42nd annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade, and my office and I are excited to participate and show our spirit. We hope to see you there, be sure to wear green!
