Hello District 4!
As we step into a new year, I want to extend my warmest wishes to all our residents for a healthy, hopeful, and productive 2026. January offers us a chance to reflect on the progress we've made in 2025 and to set our sights on opportunities in the year ahead. I remain committed to working collaboratively to ensure our county continues to thrive. Thank you for your engagement, your ideas, and your continued partnership as we begin this next chapter.

Eden Area MAC Applications Now Being Accepted for an Alameda County District 4 appointment.
The Council consists of 7 members with 4 members recommended by Supervisor Miley (District 4) and 3 members recommended by Supervisor Tam (District 3). The council advises the Board of Supervisors on matters concerning Ashland, Cherryland, Hayward Acres and San Lorenzo, as defined within the boundaries established in the Eden Area General Plan.
Meetings occur once a month in the evening on the second Tuesday of each month. Appointees must live in the area served by the Eden Area MAC or have operated/owned a business there for at least 5 consecutive years. Appointees will receive a $50 stipend per meeting.

The Alameda County Department of Agriculture / Weights and Measures
The Alameda County Department of Agriculture / Weights and Measures promotes the Alameda County agricultural industry, protects the environment and the general public, and provides buyers and sellers a fair marketplace. We are the local enforcement authority for the California Department of Food and Agriculture and the California Department of Pesticide Regulation. The department's mission is to 1) Ensure the safe and responsible use of pesticides by farmers, pest control operators, government, industry, and the general public, 2) Prevent the introduction, establishment, and spread of harmful insects, plant diseases, weeds, and other pests, and 3) Ensure that commercial transactions based on weight or volume are performed on accurate and appropriate equipment.
