Dear District 1,
With Thanksgiving tomorrow, I want to express my sincere gratitude to you all—my community. I am thankful every day for the diverse and vibrant constituents I have the privilege of serving. Without your voices and commitment to one another, our collective progress would not be possible. This week is a time for rest, reflection, and reconnection. I hope you find moments of peace, growth, and joy with the people that matter to you the most, regardless of whether you celebrate Thanksgiving or not.
I also invite you to explore this week's newsletter, where you'll find many updates and upcoming events for District 1 and Alameda County.
As always, if there is anything that my office can do to assist you regarding County-specific matters, please feel free to reach out at bosdist1@acgov.org.
Sincerely,

David G. Haubert Alameda County Supervisor District 1
Scouts in Sunol
This past weekend (on Sunday from 10 am to 2 pm), just in the nick of time before the rain started, Scouts from the SCOUTING AMERICA- Golden Gate Area Council partnered with our office and County Public Works to create over 400 sandbags for Sunol residents to pick up and utilize to help protect their properties. The sandbags are ready for Sunol residents to grab and go at the Kilkare Rd sandbagging station. The hard work, dedication, and helpful spirit of the Scouts is greatly appreciated by our office & the community.
AIM Ideas Lab
I am proud to partner with the nonprofit AIM Youth Mental Health and provide the funding for their AIM Ideas Lab, a youth-led peer-to-peer mental health research program that centers the voices of young people in discovering emerging mental health issues and advocating for solutions to support their schools and communities.
Their AIM Ideas Lab Program is currently seeking sophomores and juniors from Dublin, Livermore, and Fremont high schools!
Working with peers in supportive cohorts and with trained adult mentors, high school students design and run peer-to-peer mental health surveys, analyze real data, develop insights and actionable solutions for their school and community, and present their findings to community leaders and policymakers.
AIM Ideas Lab is an 8-week virtual program that begins in late January 2026.
Students who participate earn 12+ community service hours, gain hands-on research experience, and build skills that support their own well-being.
Applications for Ideas Lab are now open. The deadline to apply is Sunday, December 14, 2025.
Students: Make a meaningful impact on your school, your community, and the future of youth mental health while being part of a growing movement of youth leaders. If it sounds like a good fit, we'd love to see your application!
Parents & Educators: Encourage a student to apply! Forward this email to any student you think would be a good fit!

I was honored to support Innovation Tri-Valley's 2025 Tri-Valley DreamMakers and RiskTakers. Seeing the young entrepreneurs' drive and innovation reminds us why investing in our youth and in the communities they uplift is so essential.
