Dear District 1,
Trick or treat! It's almost Halloween, and I hope everyone is enjoying the spooky fall season so far. As nights get colder and we approach many festivities, I urge everyone to stay safe and look out for one another. For those who celebrate, Happy belated Diwali!
Make sure to explore this week's newsletter, where you'll find many updates and upcoming events for District 1 and Alameda County.
As always, if there is anything that my office can do to assist you regarding County-specific matters, please feel free to reach out at bosdist1@acgov.org.
Sincerely,

David G. Haubert Alameda County Supervisor District 1

3VCF Launches the Young Philanthropist Award
Three Valleys Community Foundation is proud to announce the launch of our inaugural Young Philanthropist Award — a new opportunity to recognize and uplift the next generation of community change makers.
Created to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and the fierce urgency of now, this award celebrates local youth who exemplify the spirit of giving, service, and leadership.
We invite students, educators, and community members across the Tri-Valley to participate—by submitting nominations or helping spread the word within your networks.
Free Webinars to Help Community Members with Covered California Enrollment
ively will be hosting a series of free webinars to help community members navigate the Covered California Open Enrollment period, which begins November 1. This can be a complex topic, especially given the current environment, and our goal is to make the process easier for families and individuals in our community.
Each session will include: • An overview of health insurance options • Tips for choosing the right plan • Information on how to access Hively’s free enrollment assistance services
The webinars will take place at 7:00 p.m. on November 4, December 3, and January 8 (each session will cover the same material).
Alameda County CASA
Imagine everything you know being taken away in a single moment – your family, your home, your routines. Even if it’s meant to keep you safe, your world has just turned upside down. It would be natural to feel confused, overwhelmed and alone.
While social workers and foster families provide essential support, youth in foster care need something more – the consistency of a caring adult who will show up and stand by them through the ups and downs.
If you’d like to be a Champion in the life of a youth in foster care, please sign up for an Information Session to learn more about how you can be that consistent, caring adult. https://casaofalamedacounty.org/becoming-a-volunteer/
