Dear District 1,
Earth Day was just two days ago—a moment that reminded many of us to pause, reflect, and recommit to caring for our planet and communities. As we head into the final days of April, Spring is fully in bloom, school years are winding down, and many of us are planning for the rest of the year.
Whether you're feeling energized, overwhelmed, or somewhere in between, this is a great time to reset your focus, appreciate how far you've come, and continue to stay engaged with the community. I appreciate all of your support and constant dedication. I urge to read on below to find out about the happenings in District 1 and future events.
As always, if there is anything that my office can do to assist you regarding County-specific matters, please feel free to reach out at bosdist1@acgov.org.
Sincerely,

David G. Haubert Alameda County Supervisor District 1
Thank you to everyone who submitted photos for the Earth Day feature!
I’m so glad to see such amazing community participation and appreciation for nature. Continue to stay engaged so we can protect and celebrate the our beautiful planet every day!
Behavioral Health Housing & Homelessness Conversation
We had great turnout with rich discussion on behavioral health, housing , and homelessness on Monday. The audience comprised representatives from the police, sheriff’s department, community-based organizations (CBOs), county libraries, and county staff.
While county resources for mental health and housing support are extensive and robust, the demand significantly exceeds what can currently be provided. This highlights the critical role that CBOs play as essential partners in addressing these needs.
Supervisor Miley emphasized that 'the public is becoming increasingly impatient' for more assistance." Both Supervisor Miley and I express gratitude to the presenters and attendees for their commitment and time.
2025 CSAC Conference
My team and I had the honor of attending the CSAC Conference in Sacramento this week. It's great to see so many leaders coming together to address problems in our communities and I am continuously grateful for opportunities like these that allow me to strengthen Alameda County.
Sunol Bulky Waste Drop-Off
The annual Sunol Bulky Waste Drop-off Event happened on Saturday, April 12, and almost 100 Sunol residents dropped off e-waste, yard waste, furniture, mattresses, paper, and medical waste. I am proud to help facilitate events like these for constituents in the unincorporated communities I serve.
