District 1 Newsletter | September 9th, 2024 |
|
Dear District 1,
I hope this message finds you in good health! I wish all of our students a safe return back to school and a pleasant end to Summer. The Alameda County Board of Supervisors started recess on August 8th and will go back into session soon, on September 17th. During that time, I have been busy in the District, attending numerous events and engaging with local businesses, citizens, and youth.
As we begin to transition into the beautiful season of Fall, I am delighted to bring you our latest newsletter. I strongly encourage you to explore the many resources and events in our community. Your participation and engagement is vital in ensuring a supportive and informed community.
If there is anything that my office can do to assist you regarding County-specific matters, please feel free to reach out at bosdist1@acgov.org.
Sincerely,
David Haubert Alameda County Supervisor District 1

Sip With Us Livermore
I have partnered with the Livermore Valley Wine Growers Association and Livermore Downtown Inc. to bring you the "Sip With Us Livermore" event from September 1st to 30th.
This collaborative partnership will provide an economic boost to downtown Livermore dining establishments and the Livermore Valley Wine Industry.
If you bring a bottle of wine produced in Livermore to one of the participating locations, your 1st corkage fee will be waived and paid for by me. Come out and celebrate California Wine Month, support Livermore Wine Country, and enjoy some great food and wine!
I had a great time at the Kickoff Event with the Livermore Downtown Inc. Executive Director, Ruby Lopez, and Zak Dyer, the General Manager of Sons of Liberty Alehouse. Watch here!

I-680 SB Closures between Alcosta Blvd and I-580/I-680 I/C
Important Message from Caltrans:
"There will be a full weekend closure of southbound Interstate 680 between the Alcosta Boulevard in San Ramon and the I-580/I-680 connector in Pleasanton.
This closure will take place Friday, September 20 through Monday morning, September 23.
The work will repair deteriorating existing pavement and enhance motorist safety while reducing the number of nightly closures needed on the project. This weekend closure will accomplish the amount of work that otherwise would require an estimated 40 nighttime closures.
After this full closure, there will be two additional partial weekend closures (Not Full Closure) of southbound I-680 in this specific location allowing that motorists can still travel on southbound I-680 through the construction work zone. The dates for these additional partial weekend closures are scheduled for 10/4/2024 to 10/7/2024 and 10/18/2024 to 10/21/2024.
In the case of rain or unanticipated developments, the closures will be rescheduled and the public will be notified."
