Finding a Flu Vaccine

The 2021-22 flu vaccines are widely available in the community and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommend receiving your flu vaccine by the end of October.

Check with your healthcare provider or local pharmacy to see which vaccines they have available. You can also search by ZIP code for your preferred vaccine type (traditional, nasal spray, high-dose vaccine, or egg-free) using the Vaccines.gov interactive map.

The CDC has also stated that you may receive your COVID-19 vaccine and flu vaccine at the same time. Check with your healthcare provider if you have concerns about receiving a dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and the flu vaccine at the same time.

For more information, please visit the CDC’s 2021-22 Flu Season Frequently Asked Questions webpage.

COVID-19 Emergency Rental Assistance Funds Still Available

COVID-19 rent relief funds are still available through Alameda County Housing Secure and the State’s Housing is Key programs. Both landlords and tenants are eligible to apply.

Alameda County Housing Secure
AC Housing Secure provides Alameda County residents (except in Oakland and Fremont) with more information about the local eviction moratorium, rent and utilities relief resources for both tenants and landlords, and other housing assistance resources.

Keep Oakland Housed and Keep Fremont Housed
For residents in the cities of Oakland and Fremont, apply for emergency rental assistance through Bay Area Community Services (BACS).

Housing is Key
Housing is Key is the State of California’s COVID-19 housing relief portal. Housing is Key includes information on eviction protections, applications for tenants and landlords to apply for rental relief, and foreclosure assistance for homeowners.

Alameda County Redistricting Public Input

Every ten years, the Alameda County Board of Supervisors’ district maps have to be redrawn. Redistricting determines which neighborhoods and communities are grouped together into a supervisorial district for purposes of electing a Board of Supervisor member.

The Board of Supervisors is seeking public input on how the Alameda County community wants the Supervisorial districts to be drawn.

For more information on redistricting and how you can get involved, please visit the Alameda County Redistricting 2021 website.
