Sincerely, Wilma Chan Weekly Vaccine UpdateVaccination continues to be our best tool to prevent infection and severe illness, hospitalization, and death due to COVID-19. While case rates in Alameda County are going down, community transmission remains high and case rates are three times higher among unvaccinated individuals compared to vaccinated individuals. COVID-19 vaccines are free and available at local pharmacies, through health care providers, and at Alameda County Public Health Department (ACPHD) pop-up clinics. Please visit ACPHD’s COVID-19 Vaccine Resources page for a calendar of vaccine locations by date, a list of health partners offering COVID-19 vaccines, and an interactive map to find pharmacies offering COVID-19 vaccines near you. Testing for COVID-19 in Alameda CountyIn partnership with community partners, ACPHD is operating free COVID-19 testing locations throughout the county. Testing is free and available to anyone with or without symptoms at all community testing sites in Alameda County.
