Please Vaccinate Your Children as Soon as They are Eligible

Children and youth, 12 and older, and their families can access vaccinations through their normal health care setting, as well as local pharmacies, and community pop-up clinics.
The Alameda County Health Care Services Agency partners with school districts and the County Office of Education to bring clinics to school sites.
These options will continue to be available for children, aged 5-11, when they become eligible for vaccination which is anticipated later this fall.

I was proud to help champion the development of 34 tiny homes at the old Fairmont Campus! On September 15th, I was honored to join the residents and partners in welcoming them to their new homes.
The project, made possible in part by Covid related CARES funding, was led by folks like Pastor Jake Medcalf of First Presbyterian Church of Hayward who piloted a tiny homes model and generously shared what he learned with the County every step of the way, Alameda County Director of the Office of Homeless Care and Coordination Kerry Abbott for her visionary leadership in addressing homelessness, Building Opportunities for Self Sufficiency (BOSS) Executive Director Donald Frazier who oversees the invaluable operations of the Tiny Homes site, and for the unwavering support of Colleen Chawla, Director of Alameda County Health Care Services Agency.

Please join the Lend A Hand Foundation in their efforts to provide over 25,000 students with educational tools in 2022!
Many children are at home due to these turbulent times of the pandemic, and Lend A Hand Foundation is raising funds to provide school supplies as well as support to families. They pledge to provide school supplies to as many children as possible, and to raise funds to support as many families in Alameda County as possible with essentials. All donations will go toward these efforts.

Most Tuesdays, the Board of Supervisors holds a Regular Meeting during which the public is allowed to speak to the Board on agenda items representing decisions made about our communities.
While we might not always agree on the best path forward, I am fond of saying that reasonable people will disagree, and that I get some of my best ideas from my constituency base. I am honored to serve on the Board as a County Supervisor and take the ideas, concerns, and feedback of the public very seriously.
Please consider tuning into these meeting and encouraging your family, friends, and neighbors to do the same. We are stronger as a County when we are connected to one another, and engaged with the civic process.
