Updates from the Alameda County
Public Health Department

The Alameda County Public Health Department (ACPHD) has aligned with the CDC’s guidance for fully vaccinated people. While this new guidance allows fully vaccinated people to participate in some unmasked activities, the COVID-19 is far from over and it is crucial to continue exercising safety by wearing a face covering and practicing social distancing in public.

Standing Up to Racism: A Chat with Asian American/Pacific Islander Leaders and Activists 

I invite you to join me and other Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) leaders in Alameda County for a discussion addressing anti-AAPI hate and discrimination on Sunday, May 16, 2021 from 6 PM-7:30 PMSign up with the Alameda County Library. 

Alameda County Older Adults Digital Inclusion Survey 

The Alameda County Council for Age-Friendly Communities is conducting a confidential survey of adults aged 50 and older in the County to ask about their digital needs and access.

COVID-19 Vaccination Resources in Alameda County 

State, county, and other health care partners are offering COVID-19 vaccination clinics throughout Alameda County:

  • Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum. Schedule appointments through MyTurn.
  • Alameda County Points of Distribution (PODs). Visit ACPHD's COVID-19 vaccine page for more information.
  • Alameda County Fairgrounds. Schedule appointments through Primary.
  • Buchanan Parking: Golden Gate Fields Schedule appointments through the City of Berkeley.

Testing for COVID-19 in Alameda County 

In partnership with community partners, ACPHD is operating free COVID-19 testing locations throughout the county. 

Testing is free and available to anyone with or without symptoms at all community testing sites in Alameda County. You will not be asked about immigration status and do not need insurance at any of these locations.

CA Notify: Receive COVID-19 exposure alerts directly to your smartphone. CA Notify website.   

Covered California Special Enrollment Period: Covered California's special enrollment period runs until May 15, 2021. Apply online.

Free Tax Preparation Services: Families and individuals earning less than $56,000 a year are eligible for no-cost tax preparation through the Social Services Agency. Tax services are provided by appointment only – no exceptions. Schedule appointments online.

Trybe: Offers food, basic supplies, and COVID-19 testing. Visit their COVID-19 resources page for more information.
