Face Coverings Required at All Times

mask

Face coverings must be worn at all times by all members of the public, including outdoors while engaged in physical activities (walking, running, biking, etc.) and within 30 feet of people outside of their household.

Children aged 12 and younger are not required to wear a face covering, and any child two years old or younger should not wear a face covering. The County Order does not apply if a person is only with members of their own household and does not expect to come into contact with a member of the public. A person engaged in walking, hiking, bicycling, running, and other physical activities is not required to wear a face covering during the entire duration of their activity, but that person must carry a face covering that is easy to access so they can wear it once they are within 30 feet of other people.

Emotional Emancipation Circle Series

healing circle

The First 5 Alameda County Ubuntu Healing Circle is excited to offer Emotional Emancipation Circles (EECs) to the Alameda County Community for people who identify as Black and/or African-descent.

April 13 – July 27, 2021

2nd and 4th Tuesdays
10:00 AM — 12:00 PM

Emotional Emancipation Circles are a collaboration between the Community Healing Network (CHN) and the Association of Black Psychologists (ABPsi). The purpose of the circles is to have a safe space for persons of African ancestry to share truths about the impact of racial stress within our society as well as of having internalized negative cultural messages grounded in the lie of Black inferiority. The manifestation of this lie can appear in various ways, including:

  • Feeling like an impostor in comparison to your peers;
  • Trying to disprove the belief that Black people are unintelligent and lazy;
  • Holding a negative body image;
  • Not living up to your potential because you’re plagued with self-doubt and a belief most Black people cannot achieve success;
  • Incessant comparison to non-Black persons;
  • Feeling as if you have to represent your racial group at all times to non-Black persons;
  • And many more experiences that will be identified and explored within the circle.

REGISTER HERE

For planning purposes, please register by April 8!

For more information contact June Allen at (510) 227-6926.
