Alameda County Arts Relief Grant Program

The Alameda County Arts Relief Grant Program assists nonprofit arts and cultural organizations affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. This program is managed by the Office of the Alameda County Arts Commission under the leadership of Alameda County Auditor-Controller Melissa Wilk and the Alameda County Board of Supervisors.
The Arts Relief Grant Program will award grants between $5,000 - $25,000 to nonprofit arts and cultural organizations. Award amounts will be based on the organization’s budget size and demonstrated need. Grants will be awarded to qualifying organizations providing arts programs and services in the areas of visual art, dance, theater, music, literature, poetry, cultural traditions, and other related forms of arts, culture and creativity. This grant program is intended to provide support for expenses and income loss from business interruption due to COVID-19 between March 1, 2020 through December 30, 2020. This is a granting program and therefore repayment of the funds will not be required.

Alameda County CARES Grant for Small Businesses

The Alameda County CARES grant program was authorized by the Alameda County Board of Supervisors on November 10, 2020 when it redirected $5 million in CARES Act funds for a small business grant program in response to the economic, health and safety impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. The program prioritizes grants for small, local and emerging businesses within Alameda County and is intended to promote and foster inclusiveness in the County’s diverse communities. Grants are intended to assist small businesses facing revenue losses and ongoing expenses for business impacts occurring between March 1, 2020 and December 30, 2020.
Eligible businesses can receive a one-time grant of $5,000. The funds will not require repayment. Funds are limited and not everyone who applies is guaranteed to receive funding.
ELIGIBILITY
Be a business in Alameda County (excluding the unincorporated areas) currently operating in a brick-and-mortar location that has COVID-19 business impacts
- Valid business license for the location
- Employ between 1 and 25 employees
- Must upload a business IRS Form W-9
- Business has been negatively impacted by one of these measures
- Closure of any length due to COVID-19
- Layoff of one or more staff
Exclusions: Alameda County CARES grants excludes all chain businesses not headquartered in Alameda County, financial institutions, banks, lenders, landlords of residential or commercial businesses, publicly traded companies, home-based businesses and non-profit entities.

Alameda County Family Child Care COVID-19 Relief Grant
Deadline: Friday, December 4, 2020, 5:00 PM
First 5 Alameda County is administering CARES Act funding provided by Alameda County Social Services Agency to offer COVID-19 relief to Alameda County Licensed Family Child Care (FCC) Providers. Awards up to $5,000 for small FCCs and up to $10,000 for large FCCs will be made.
Who can apply: Open Alameda County licensed small and large family child care providers financially impacted by COVID-19. Priority will be given to subsidy serving providers. Non-subsidy serving providers will be selected from each Board of Supervisor district ensuring language diversity representation as funds allow.
Completed applications must be received by 5:00 PM on Friday, December 4, 2020.
Please note: Eligible expenses are limited to those not funded through a PPP loan or Alameda County COVID Relief Grant for small businesses.
