The African American Mental Health Training and Technical Assistance Program presents a workshop intended to increase working knowledge of systemic/generational trauma, provide steps for healing trauma and how to work with clients of color using the identified steps.

He is best known for his song “Don’t Laugh At Me” which is the impetus for an anti bullying program used in 30,000 schools. The URSA, a new development located in downtown Berkeley, will be taking lottery applications for five affordable units created through the City's Below Market Rate program.

To be entered into the lottery, interested applicants must complete and submit a Pre-Application form by 5:00 pm on Thursday, October 31, 2019. The property manager will not accept applications after this deadline - no exceptions.

Glen Brook Terrace, a 66-unit mid-rise senior community, was built in 1969. Glen Brook Terrace is located right off the highly popular Piedmont Avenue in Oakland and blocks from Kaiser Permanente Hospital.

Applications are available online and at the leasing office for 1-bedroom and studio units. Applications must be returned in-person or by mail by October 28, 2019. Applications returned by mail must be postmarked by October 28, 2019 AND received by the manager's office by November 4, 2019.

Oak Street Terrace is a great example of alternative urban development. The vacant and underutilized parking lot that once filled the space is now an elegant and efficiently designed building for low-income senior residents.

Census 2020 Ambassador Program

Are you a trusted messenger and wish to lead outreach in your community? Apply to join Alameda County's Census Ambassador Program!

What is it? A once in a decade chance to count everyone to bring money, data, and decision makers to our communities.

Why does it matter? Alameda County has 413,000 residents who are considered “Hard-to-Count,” such as seniors, young children, immigrants, and low income individuals.

What can you do to ensure our community counts? As trusted community members, we invite you to volunteer as an Ambassador to educate residents about the census and motivate your communities to get counted.
