Measure A1 Oversight Committee Application Period Open

To Interested Parties:
The Alameda County Board of Supervisors is inviting nominations from various organizations to serve on the County’s Measure A1 Citizen Oversight Committee (Committee). Pursuant to Measure A1, the general duty of the Committee is to review Measure A1 expenditures for conformance to the purposes of the Measure as approved by the voters through the mechanism of an annual report to the Board of Supervisors.
All appointments will be made by the Board of Supervisors from applications submitted to the County’s Housing and Community Development Department. The Committee will consist of not less than ten (10) and not more than fifteen (15) members appointed by the Board. Members will serve terms of no less than 2 years and no more than 4 years, and the terms of original members will vary (some shorter and some longer) to stagger the appointment expirations to support continuity of knowledge on the Committee. The Committee will meet not less than four times annually and not more frequently than monthly.
The Board has approved the following seats:
- East Bay Housing Organizations – one seat
- Building and Constructions Trades Council of Alameda County – two seats
- League of Women Voters – two seats (one for North County and one for South County)
- Alameda County City Manager’s Association – one seat
- Alameda County Taxpayers Association – one seat
In addition to the above organizations, the Board has also approved the following seats:
- Residents of subsidized housing, with preference given to Measure A1 target population – two seats
- Faith-Based Community – one seat
