Caregiving & Wellness Forum

Learn more about taking care of loved ones with Alzheimer's and find out about accessible caregiver resources. FREE and Open to the Public, this event will also have lunch, free health screenings and respite care available.

Naturalization Course (English)

The Multicultural Institute (MI) will be starting a Naturalization Course taught in English for English-speaking individuals eligible for citizenship. This course will begin Saturday, April 21, 2018.

The course is designed to prepare students for the citizenship interview by studying U.S. civics and providing an overview of the citizenship interview as a whole. For those who require it, we will also have Naturalization Clinics, where attorneys will answer any questions, review their application, and address any possible red flags.For more information visit: www.mionline.org

East Bay Diesel Exposure Project

State health workers and UC Berkeley invite families to participate in a new project studying air pollution from trucks and other sources in Oakland, Richmond, and San Pablo.  Families with young children can join the East Bay Diesel Exposure Project (https://biomonitoring.ca.gov/projects/east-bay-diesel-exposure-project).

We will give back individual results to families if asked, and give advice on ways to reduce exposures. All personal information is confidential.  To thank them for their participation, families will receive $80 in gift cards to a local store.

This information is important to protect public health and support efforts to reduce chemical exposures for all Californians.

Winter's cold weather exacerbates health challenges for the thousands of Alameda County residents who are living unsheltered on the streets and in encampments. You can access up-to-date winter shelter and warming station information on the Health Care for the Homeless Program website.
