African American Female Excellence: AAFE Youth Forum

The African American Female Excellence program invites you to bring youth and to participate in a continued community conversation and engagement on the experience and aspirations of Black girls in education. This discussion will center on mental health needs, concerns and resources for Black girls. The hope is to allow our youth to share their challenges they face and to provide a platform for them to make recommendations from their lens. Bring youth to tell their stories and share their experiences.

Please join us on Thursday, January 18th at the West Oakland Youth Center, 3233 Market Street (crosses Brockhurst), 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. A light meal will be provided.

Kaiser Permanente is pleased to announce the 2018 Community Benefit Grants Program for the East Bay Service Area. This year the competitive grant process is two-phased, beginning with a Letter of Intent (LOI). These LOIs will be reviewed, and a selection of the applicants will be invited to submit a full proposal. Because they are targeting very specific activities and outcomes, Kaiser Permanente suggests you first review the categories and requirements to determine if your organization has the desire or capacity to provide the requested services to the target population.  To learn more, participate in the Bidders’ Conference on January 23, 2018 at 12:30pm.

LOI Due: Friday, February 2nd by 5:00pm

Grant Award Range: $15,000 - $50,000
