African American Female Excellence: AAFE Youth Forum
The African American Female Excellence program invites you to bring youth
and to participate in a continued community conversation and
engagement on the experience and aspirations of Black girls in education.
This discussion will center on mental health needs, concerns and resources for
Black girls. The hope is to allow our youth to share their challenges they face and to provide a platform for them to make recommendations from their lens. Bring youth to tell their stories
and share their experiences.

 Kaiser Permanente is pleased to announce the 2018 Community
Benefit Grants Program for the East Bay Service Area. This year the competitive
grant process is two-phased, beginning with a Letter of Intent (LOI). These
LOIs will be reviewed, and a selection of the applicants will be invited to submit
a full proposal. Because they are targeting very specific activities and
outcomes, Kaiser Permanente suggests you first review the categories and requirements to
determine if your organization has the desire or capacity to provide the
requested services to the target population. To learn more, participate
in the Bidders’ Conference on January 23, 2018 at 12:30pm.
LOI Due: Friday, February 2nd by 5:00pm
Grant Award Range: $15,000 - $50,000
Grant Period: July 1, 2018 –June

ideas, behaviors and attitudes of the masses. So is media a tool of the enemy
or the people? Come out as TechActivist.Org to discuss the difference between
corporate media and media made by the people for the people.
TechActivist.Org will
kickoff this event with a
discussion on the power of media and the role young Black and Brown people play
in making media with Glen Ford, Executive Editor of Black Agenda Report (and
a Certified Elder of the Black Journalism Tribe).
