Focus on: Community Listening Sessions
Over the summer, ALL IN staff began preparations to provide mini-grants to community individuals, groups, nonprofits, and businesses to host listening sessions.
Last fall, the community listening sessions provided valuable feedback from low-income communities on what is and is not working in their neighborhoods. Those listening sessions provided a guide for February's ALL IN for Thriving Communities Social Innovation Fair, which has directed ALL IN's programs for 2016.
As a part of an ongoing community engagement process, ALL IN has established community listening sessions as an annual program to continue receiving guidance from the community in action team development.
This year, we received over EIGHTY applications and were able to fund SEVENTY-SEVEN of them!
These organizations, community groups, and individuals will be hosting listening sessions throughout Alameda County and engaging with homeless individuals, the LGBTQ community, people with disabilities, refugees, monolingual immigrants, formerly incarcerated individuals and their families, and more to hear what they have to say.
