DEADLINE TODAY TO REGISTER TO VOTE - Today, Oct. 5, is the deadline to register to vote in the November general and special election (link below). If you are registering for the first time in Arizona, you are not fully registered until you have met the proof of citizenship and residency requirements mandated by statute. Meanwhile, the City of Tucson’s "The Choice Is Yours" publicity pamphlet recently was mailed to City of Tucson households with a registered voter, as were other pamphlets from different jurisdictions. The 2026 City of Tucson election is being consolidated with the general election administered by Pima County. The publicity pamphlet provides voters with election information, including where and how to vote, sample ballots, the full text of the ballot propositions, arguments for and against the propositions, and contact information for questions or additional information. The City of Tucson has two propositions appearing on the ballot. Proposition 421 is a franchise agreement for Tucson Electric Power, and Proposition 422 is the reauthorization of a one-tenth-cent transaction privilege (sales) tax and use tax, with revenues dedicated to Reid Park Zoo.
