The project added a shaded splash pad and playground, walking paths, an event plaza, more than 300 trees and shrubs, a new restroom, two multipurpose fields, a relocated baseball field, a parking lot, and improved ADA-accessible walkways. Funding came from Tucson Delivers Proposition 407, City Framework funds, impact fees, and a Tohono O'odham Nation Gaming Grant. The project also includes public art by Oliverio Balcells, who created a mosaic mural and two metal benches reflecting the neighborhood's history, a border of ceramic tiles made by Borton Elementary School students, and an oral history project completed with Los Descendientes de Tucson, in partnership with the Arts Foundation for Tucson and Southern Arizona.
