Join Us for the Grand Re-Opening of Santa Rita Park!
I am excited to invite you, your family, and your neighbors to celebrate the grand re-opening of Santa Rita Park!
Join us for two evenings of food, music, games, family activities, and community fun as we welcome programming and play back to this important neighborhood park.
Friday, October 2: Grand Re-Opening Celebration
The celebration begins at 5 p.m. at Santa Rita Park, 401 E. 22nd Street.
Come out and enjoy food trucks, music, live entertainment, games, lowriders, children’s activities, and more! Proceeds from food truck sales will be donated back to nearby public schools and sports leagues.
At 5:30 p.m., I’ll join Mayor Regina Romero and other community leaders for a short ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially celebrate the park’s reopening.
Stick around afterward for even more fun, including a 3-on-3 basketball game between the Tucson Police Department and Tucson Fire Department, a wiffle ball game with the Tucson Bandidos, FREE paletas, and FREE bike repair and bike parking hosted by Cyclovia.
Getting to Santa Rita Park
We encourage you to bike or use public transportation to join us at Santa Rita Park!
If you’re riding your bike, free bike parking and bike repair will be available through Cyclovia during Friday’s celebration.
Prefer to take the bus? Sun Tran offers routes serving the area. Before heading out, plan your trip and check the latest route and schedule information on the Sun Tran website.
Come Back Saturday for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie!
The celebration continues Saturday, October 3, with the next installment of our Ward 5 Movies in the Park series!
Join us as we screen The Super Mario Galaxy Movie at Santa Rita Park. Activities begin at 6 p.m., with the movie starting at dusk.
Bring your lawn chairs, your blankets, get comfortable, and enjoy a free family-friendly movie under the stars!

Welcome Back, Santa Rita Park!
Our parks are places where our children play, families gather, neighbors connect, and our community creates memories together.
Creating safe and welcoming spaces for our elders, youth, families, and neighbors is one of my priorities as your Council Member, and I am excited to see activities, play, and community return to Santa Rita Park.
