FATAL MOTORCYCLE COLLISION
2000 BLOCK OF EAST WINSETT STREET
On September 4, 2026, just after 9:00 p.m., officers from Operations Division Midtown responded to the 2000 block of East Winsett Street for a report of a motorcycle collision. Tucson Fire Department personnel also responded and, upon arrival, pronounced the motorcyclist deceased. Traffic detectives responded to the scene and continued the investigation.
Roadway evidence indicated that the motorcyclist, identified as 80-year-old Terrance D. Yokofich, was traveling westbound on Winsett Street on his 2018 Harley-Davidson motorcycle at a speed above the posted 25 MPH limit when he struck a raised barrier traffic chicane. The impact caused Mr. Yokofich to lose control of the motorcycle and crash. Detectives determined that he was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision. Mr. Yokofich’s family was contacted and notified of his passing. Speed and loss of control after striking the raised traffic median are the known contributing factors in the collision. The investigation remains ongoing.
