CITY OF TUCSON TO CELEBRATE KEELING DESERT PARK IMPROVEMENTS WITH RIBBON CUTTING
Thursday, June 11, at 9 a.m.
Tucson Mayor Regina Romero, Ward 3 Council Member Kevin Dahl, and the City of Tucson Parks and Recreation department invite the public to a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday, June 11, at 9 a.m., to celebrate the completion of improvements at Keeling Desert Park, located at 245 E Glenn St, Tucson, AZ 85705.
The project features improved lighting and landscaping, a new half-court basketball court, lowered masonry walls at the front of the property and new matching masonry walls at the rear, new cement animals, and a new kiosk.
“I’m grateful to our Parks and Recreation department for working so closely with the neighbors throughout the design process,” said Council Member Dahl. “What has been accomplished here adds some nice amenities to this lovely neighborhood pocket park.”
The project was designed by Gary Grizzle of WLB and constructed by Kappcon General Contracting. Funding of $144,450 was provided through the Tucson Delivers voter-approved Proposition 407 bond and a grant from the Tohono O'odham Nation of $75,000.
