The Tucson Police Department (TPD) is actively recruiting qualified candidates to join the department as Police Officer Recruits. Applications are now open through April 13, 2026.
TPD is seeking motivated individuals committed to public service, integrity, and community partnership to serve our Tucson community. To qualify you must be a US Citizen, 21 years old by Academy graduation, have a High School Diploma or GED, have a valid unrestricted Arizona Class D driver’s license, and have no felony convictions or recent drug use.
Individuals interested in learning more about the hiring process, qualifications, academy training, and career benefits are encouraged to attend one of the upcoming information sessions:

Wednesday, April 8th, El Pueblo Center 101 W. Irvington Rd, 6-7 pm
Information sessions provide an opportunity to meet our recruiting staff, ask questions, and gain insight into expectations and career pathways within the department. Qualified candidates ready to begin a career in law enforcement should submit their application before the deadline of April 13, 2026, to start in the 2026 September Academy.
