On March 14, 2026, at approximately 6:45 p.m., officers from Operations Division East responded to the area of East Golf Links Road and South Kolb Road regarding 9-1-1 calls to the Public Safety Communications Department (PSCD) reporting gunshots being heard in the area. As officers were responding to investigate, additional 9-1-1 calls to PSCD reported that three victims arrived at an urgent care, all with apparent gunshot trauma. The Tucson Fire Department also responded, and all three victims were transported to a hospital for further medical care. One of the victims did not survive and was pronounced deceased. He has been identified as a 13-year-old, whose name is being withheld at this time. Homicide detectives and Crime Scene Unit responded to continue the investigation.
Officers and Detectives interviewed witnesses and collected numerous pieces of evidence. It was determined that all three victims were occupants in a vehicle. An altercation took place between passengers of the vehicle and unknown suspects, who were in the area. The confrontation resulted in the suspect, or suspects, discharging a firearm at the victims and their vehicle, striking all three, fatally wounding the 13-year-old. An extensive search for the two suspects was conducted, but they were not located.
This investigation is in its early stages and is ongoing. Additional information may be released at a later date as it becomes available. Anyone with any information regarding this homicide is urged to contact the Tucson Police Department, or 88-CRIME to remain anonymous.
