Tucson Mayor Regina Romero will open Hope in the Park Resource Fair for unsheltered Tucsonans on Friday, March 6, at Freedom Park, 5000 E. 29th St. The Mayor will offer remarks to the volunteers and participants and community partners.
The Multi-Disciplinary Outreach Team (MDOT) and Housing First, the City of Tucson’s houseless outreach and provider divisions with Housing and Community Development (HCD), are sponsoring and organizing Hope in the Park.
Services to be offered include health screening, legal assistance, behavioral health assistance, shelter/housing, clothing, haircuts, animal care, VA benefits, food and more.
Based on previous Hope in the Park events, more than 300 people are expected at the park, including veterans and families with children.
Mayor Romero will be available for brief media questions after her remarks.
