DELAYED FATAL VEHICLE COLLISION EAST BROADWAY BOULEVARD AND SOUTH CRAYCROFT ROAD |
On November 8, 2025, at approximately 12:30 p.m., Community Service Officers from Operations Division Midtown and members from the Tucson Fire Department (TFD) responded to the intersection at East Broadway Boulevard and South Craycroft Road regarding reports of a two vehicle collision. TFD medically evaluated all occupants at the scene. One of the passengers was transported to a hospital for further medical treatment. On November 16, 2025, the Pima County Office of the Medical Examiner notified the Tucson Police Department that the passenger who was transported to the hospital was pronounced deceased as a result of the injuries she suffered during the collision. She has been identified as 86-year-old Hawa Kline. Her family has been notified of her passing.
Witness statements, in conjunction with roadway and physical evidence, determined that a Lexus sedan was attempting a left turn from southbound Craycroft Road onto eastbound Broadway Boulevard. The Lexus failed to yield to oncoming traffic and was struck by a Hyundai hatchback that was traveling northbound on Craycroft Road. Mrs. Kline was the passenger in the Lexus sedan. Failing to yield to oncoming traffic while making a left turn by the Lexus is the primary cause of the collision.
This is an ongoing investigation by the TPD Traffic Investigations Unit, and no citations or arrests have been made at this time. Any additional information may be released at a later date as it becomes available.
