HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION 4600 BLOCK OF SOUTH CALLE JON |
On November 7, 2025, at around 10:25 p.m., officers from Operations Division South responded to the 4600 block of South Calle Jon regarding a shooting. While responding to this call, Tucson Police received a second call about a vehicle that had driven off the roadway near South Campbell Avenue and East Irvington Road. Officers responded to that scene and discovered 24-year-old Arturo Gastelum with an apparent gunshot wound. The Tucson Fire Department responded and evaluated Arturo, but he was pronounced deceased at the scene. His next of kin have been notified.
Initial information suggests that there was an altercation at a home in the area of 4600 South Calle Jon. Arturo and 21-year-old Jerome Middleton III were involved in an argument. That argument escalated, and Arturo was shot. Arturo left the scene in his vehicle, which came to rest near South Campbell Avenue and East Irvington Road. Jerome left the home before officers arrived.
On November 8, 2025, Jerome was arrested and booked for second-degree murder. As part of the Safe City Initiative, TPD utilizes data-driven strategies along with community member involvement and partnerships to solve and prevent crime, break the cycle of violence, and create a safe community.
