 Investing in Tucson's Tomorrow
Since 1900, Tucson Water has expanded to serve more than 750,000 customers, transforming along the way to provide quality drinking water, lead Tucson’s conservation efforts, and implement new sources to protect local groundwater. Today, we continue to adapt to modern challenges by investing in cutting edge technology.
Our Digital Transformation initiative makes life easier while saving money. We are rolling out new technology in 2026 to provide tools that help you manage your account and better understand water usage. Behind the scenes, upgraded systems help fix problems before they become emergencies, keeping your service reliable and costs down too.
As a commitment to use every drop wisely, Tucson Water will begin rolling out advanced water meters starting in 2027 to help you track usage and catch leaks early, preventing water waste in your home or business. Meanwhile, we're regularly repairing and replacing aging, leaky infrastructure throughout our system – upgrades that conserve precious water resources for future generations.
As Tucson grows, we're adopting changes discussed in our One Water 2100 Plan that make each of our local sources of water available for future generations. Our expansion of the Old Vail Reservoir will also add 6 million gallons of storage capacity.
Your water bill isn’t just a payment – it’s an investment in the reliable system that keeps Tucson thriving. Guided by our One Water 2100 Plan – built on the principles of reliability, resiliency, safety, equity, sustainability, and quality of life – we’re building a stronger, more sustainable future for our Sonoran Desert home.
